This video was posted earlier this month in Nick Zammuto’s Blog. It is a short documentary by Matt Day, portraying a day in Zammuto’s life. I enjoyed it a lot, not only because it shows his envy-worthy lifestyle, but because we can see his process of songwriting/recording. Those familiar with the sounds of The Books and Zammuto will find this interesting because he unveils many of his weird musical techniques (that are often thought to be electronic, but really are analogue… or a weird hybrid between the two).
Update: Read about The Books breaking up. :(
Andrew Bird has announced that his new album, Break It Yourself, will be released the 6th of March. Today, the album artwork was published, along with the track list. Also, Mom + Pop, the label that will release the album, has uploaded two teasers to Vimeo, check them out below.
2011 is coming to an end, which means pretty much every blog is releasing their “best of the year” lists… and I couldn’t get left behind. Again, don’t take the order too seriously and comment if you’d add/remove something from the list. Enjoy.
